zero thought, all vibes; sharing taste one newsletter at a time
In this newsletter I cover New York Fall, Guests, Music, and feeling sick.
Have been on autopilot in a bad way lately. Not really thinking or consciously doing much. Even eating feels like a passing task at times when I attempt to crank in around work or other things I am focusing on, and with that, inevitably, I have gotten a head cold, and the pressure behind my eyes and nose makes it a little difficult to concentrate, but here are some of this week’s happenings.
Fall in New York
This weekend was an iconic fall weekend in New York City, and we were lucky enough to get to share it with Sabrina’s Uncle Chris and Aunt Lisa. We started off grabbing pasta in Park Slope and then heading to the tippy top of Greenpoint for a photography gallery showing, which was a fun atmosphere. Everyone clearly had such strong will and taste, so many different types of artists all in one giant loft, it was intimate and inspiring and refreshing. We then went to Achilles Heel, a bar in the area, and grabbed a nightcap (thanks to Noah for the recommendation). Saturday, we got a late start, Chris and Lisa hit Washington Square Park for a dog costume competition, and then we met them at the Frick Museum. Eventually, the day got away from us, but we hopped on an R train, made our way back to Cobble Hill, and grabbed Thai at Lemongrass Thai, a place I mentioned in a past Substack.
We spent most of Sunday strolling around Prospect Park, Chris took the photos in this newsletter, if you like his work, give him a follow and a DM for prints! I am plugging Chris extra hard because on our walk around Park Slope, we toured a 3.5M townhouse that was gorgeous and agreed that we all need to find some way to afford something like that. The gif above is from a photobooth in Park Slope :) had to bring Bisou in on the action.
KP
King Princess was a fun mid-week concert. Sabrina and I were inspired to get tickets to her recent tour because it was only a short train ride away, but also because we had been watching the show, 9 Perfect Strangers (season 2), and we knew the actress looked familiar, but we couldn’t point it out. Eventually, we realized it was her! Also, the first season of 9 Perfect Strangers is excellent, and season 2 is also decent, but not quite up to season 1 standards.
Tea
Last year, around this time, I started to switch from coffee over to more tea, because I recognized my water consumption was decreasing, this year, I am realizing I could use a little more control related to caffeine intake, and also I just like tea
an open invite to beat sad
In this newsletter, I cover: where to find me next month, RCMC, Brunch, Bisou at the Park, and Apartment Decor. Plus all the essays published over the last month.but before you get to that, if you haven’t already, please subscribe, it is free, though if you want to pay, I promise I will make it worth your while!
I don’t have too much more to say. I have some more essay ideas coming together, but I also sort of feel like taking a step back. I am burning the wick at every end right now and need to re-evaluate what I should focus on to feel like my best self, especially given the season and soon-to-be daylight savings time it’s time to pull back on productivity and really focus on selfcare and health.
Thanks
